Museum Hotel

The Museum Hotel, on the ocean side of North Coast Highway between Cliff Drive and Jasmine Street, would replace existing uses there with a boutique, arts-focused hotel designed to beautify and increase parking on this stretch of North Laguna’s Gallery Row.

The Museum Hotel would host curated, rotating, museum-quality exhibitions and special programs. The hope and expectation (details to be confirmed) is that these exhibition spaces and special programs will be in partnership with Laguna Art Museum.

If approved, the Museum Hotel will be a three-level, full-service hotel with approximately 118 rooms situated above three levels of subterranean parking, including the 320 required stalls plus potentially up to 25 additional public parking spaces.

There would be 82,235 SF of hotel space, 8,295 SF of free-to-the-public art exhibition space, and 2,800 SF of restaurant space. Additionally, there would be an ocean view pool deck with outdoor amenities designed for the exclusive use of Museum Hotel guests.

While talks with Laguna Art Museum are in the preliminary stages, the Museum Hotel business plan includes a full-time art curator who could collaborate with LAM while independently producing diverse special programs of interest to all art lovers.
